What Were You Called?

When we were children we had many names. And in our adulthood are still often referred to by these names (titles). Have you ever been called hard headed? As an adult I can see true meaning behind these words that we often brush off. I have witnessed how a person’s head can actually be made hard by the swelling of his pride and ego. A person with a soft head you can communicate with in rewarding ways. However some heads are so hard that a brick couldn’t even put a dint in it. Too much knowledge can also give one a hard head and no more knowledge can get in it.

As children we are often referred to as being full of the devil. Often a young person’s speed that makes him often act before thinking can make one feel like it wasn’t him. I often think of the t.v.’s program Sanford and Son where aunt Esther often remarks “the devil made me do it”. Also spontaneous and full of ripeness a young girl may be called fresh. She hasn’t gotten old or worn yet and has much to live for. These and other titles that we just brush off have valuable meaning behind them. Wisdom comes with age. These thinking brain still thinks and is learning new things.
